1950's Telecaster® Pickup Set

Regular price $0.00 $225.00 Sale

The 1950's Inspired Telecaster® pickups start with classic black-on-black vulcanized fiber bobbins with your choice of Alnico II, III or V pole pieces. Each of the 0.1875 diameter pole pieces are cut to produce a traditional flat top design for both bridge and neck pickups. The coil wire used is period correct Heavy Formvar.

The target resistance measurements for each pickup is:

  • Neck - 7.5k Ohms
  • Bridge - 6.5k Ohms

Each pickup is hand made using a fully manual "scatter wound" approach; the bridge pickup is clockwise wound with the pole pieces charged "south on top", and the neck pickup is counter-clockwise wound with the pole pieces charged "north on top". Reversing the wind direction and pole piece polarity of the neck pickup reduces unwanted hum when a 3-way pickup selector is in the middle position. Each pickup is wax potted to reduce its natural tendency to produce microphonic feedback.

Vintage cloth "push back" lead wires and necessary hardware required for installation are included.  Wiring for 4-way pickup selector available upon request.

This product is for a complete set of Telecaster® replacement pickups.  Please use the Contact Ric page with any questions or if you only need a single neck or bridge pickup.

Please allow 14 days for production and packaging prior to shipping.
